CHILDREN

During the worship service, children are always welcome to join us in praising God and listening to His Word.

Additionally, we offer Nursery, toddler, and preschool classes. Children ages 0-5 can be signed in before the service at 10:15.

Children 6-9 stay with their families during the first part of the worship service to praise God with us and to hear a children’s message from Pastor Steve or one of the Elders.  After they message they will be dismissed downstairs for children’s church.

If you’re coming with children for the first time, checking them in downstairs at CrossTowne will take just a few moments.

Attire

There is no dress code here. Although some come wearing their “Sunday best”, others are more casually dressed. We welcome everyone to our services. Clothing is really of secondary importance – the heart is always God’s greatest concern.

What Can You Expect When You Visit North Oaks?

Expect to find a welcoming church community.

Everyone is welcome at North Oaks regardless of where you are in your spiritual journey.  We strive to be a church family that not only believes in the grace of God, but also extends the grace of God to everyone who comes by showing hospitality.

Expect to find a church that exists for God’s purposes.

The Westminster Shorter Catechism asks “What is the chief end of man?  We agree with its answer: “The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.” At North Oaks we call this being “Planted for Purpose.”

Expect to find a worshiping church family.

Our highest calling in life is not only to know God, but to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength.  Knowing God and loving God is the fuel for our worship of him.  On a typical Sunday morning we worship God in the following ways: singing songs of praise, reading the holy Scriptures, reciting the historical creeds, praying to God, hearing God’s Word preached, and being challenged to make a difference in the world.  We call this being “Rooted in Praise.”

Expect to find a church that desires to grow in the knowledge of God.

We place a high priority on spiritual growth through discipleship and Bible study.  We offer traditional style Bible studies, small home groups, discipleship groups, and large group studies all with the purpose of growing us in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.  We call this “Growing in Grace.” Expect to find a church that is committed to participating in the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We do this by sharing the gospel message one-on-one, supporting local outreach and church planting, and drawing alongside missionary endeavors world-wide.  At North Oaks we call this “Spreading the Seeds.”

Expect to find a church that is Evangelical in spirit, Presbyterian in church government, and Reformed in doctrine.

North Oaks is shaped and influenced by the teaching and practice rooted in the Protestant Reformation.  A detailed summary of our beliefs can be found here.  We are committed to be a church that is identified by the biblical and historical concepts of Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Christ Alone, and God’s Glory Alone.

Expect to find a church that is a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

We enthusiastically practice our denominational motto which says “In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity.”

We look forward to meeting you whenever you come to worship at North Oaks.
